Aaron, Stacy, Jake, Kaia and Alexa

I know that you are all expecting Stacy to talk on here, but let me just change it up a bit and give you some “Aaron Thoughts”:
So tonight Stacy and I went on a date tonight. Have not been on one in a while and just wanted to get out... ok so dinner and a movie. Food was good and horrible at the same time (but the good type of horrible). The movie was great. It had some parts that if taken out would have been even better but that is what the world wants right; anyways, speaking of the world, as I am waiting for Stacy out side of the restroom after the movie there is another movie getting out. They were leaving the new movie called “Paul”. It's about and alien who is crude, vulgar, etc. and it is rated “R”. well normally I would not have made it an issue, but I saw a family leave with a small child. I thought to myself “They probably did not know that it was an inappropriate movie for a small child,” and “they must not of had a baby sitter”. Well after the fifth (5th) family with muliple kids ranging from 3 to 10 years of age came out, some of the kids discussing the main Character, I was appalled. No pun intended. I am still in disbelief that any parent in their right mind would allow children so young to go with them to such an inappropriate movie. And as I thought about it, the thought came to me: it comes down to selfishness. Instead of seeing a more age appropriate movie which the parents do not want to see, they choose the more entertaining thing for themselves... made me think about the bad times we are in.

Our #2 is turning 1!

It is my beautiful daughters FIRST birthday today!

She is such a joy to us and fills into our family so well.

we are so glad that we listened to the prompting to have another baby when it just didn't make sense to us.

we were sitting in the Oakland Temple early February 2009, and we both looked at each other, didn't say a word, and kind of rolled our eyes because we were thinking the same thing.

i looked at him and i said, "really??? another one so soon???"

and aaron said, "so i guess we need to have another one!"

soon after that we were announcing it at Jake's first birthday

they are 18 months apart almost to the day

and i wouldn't change a thing

our lives are blessed because we follow promptings and listen to the spirit

I'm not saying we are perfect, not by any means

but i am just happy that we listened to this one.

and now our little blessing is turning 1!

and even though you gently put your food on the ground when you are done,

and it annoys us, we think its so cute

you are so sweet when you want to share your cookies with us

and don't stop until we "pretend" to take a bite

we love how you hold your own when it comes to jakey

you are one tough cookie

we love you so much and it aches us when you cry, but smile when you smile.

there is so much in store for you

so much that life has to offer

and we cant wait to see how beautifully you live it
